Fight continues but we stand on the right side of the history.
Thank you so much for joining us. We packed that city room. We showed the leadership that we are on the right side of the history. For people who could not make it variance did pass(unfortunately)2-1. Thank you alderman Tom Chlystek for showing true leadership.
This is not a done deal. September 4th meeting is our final chance because whole entire city council will vote on it.
So, at the end of the day gather your friends, family and neighbors and let leadership know that Darien and Waterfall Glen is not for sale to build a warehouse and truck terminals. We can’t lose focus, we only have very finite resources of natural land.
Current elected forest preserve commissioner set there in that public meeting and did not say a word. Did not make a single comment against big box and truck terminals. This elected official made it very clear to the people that she stands with big business of warehouse and truck terminals. We gave this official 10yrs to bring a positive change to community but she clearly failed all of us again.
If elected this upcoming November I will work tirelessly to bring positive change at Waterfall Glen and frontage Rd. I will approach Sterling Bay to work with City of Darien and Dupage Forest Preserve to create positive corridor “Waterfall Glen District, City of Darien”
We need anything but “Warehouse & Trucks” in front of Forest preserve.
I would like to thank all two thousand of you again for joining together to save forest preserve from this travesty. Democracy is not an event, it’s a process. We are just getting started because remember, November is right around the corner. If elected officials are not willing to listen, let’s show them our discontent in the language of voting booth. I am fighting for my two kids and this baby. What are you fighting for?
