Help us bring this repeated dog killer to justice.  For several years my family, and I have been the target of hate crimes, and our dogs(kids) have paid the price with their lives.  The first of our beloved dogs to be murdered by David L. Steed of 1011 Lake Drive Raymond, MS 39154 was Bob.  He was a loveable lab mix and was run over in the grass of our friends‘ yard.  Our second, pup named Napoleon was shot in our other friends‘ yard, and just two days ago The same hateful man shot and killed our dog Rosie in front of a nine year old child while the little boy begged him not to hurt her.
    After shooting her by the mailbox, he then posed her body on the back of his 18 wheeler before dumping her in an undisclosed location.  We couldn’t even bury her.  As stated earlier this man has been terrorizing my family, especially my fur family since he moved into our once peaceful community.
      His violence towards us began after we asked him to slow down his logging truck while driving down our street due to the number of small children and their pets in the neighborhood.  By law he was not supposed to drive his 18 wheeler in our community, much less park it on the road often blocking peoples driveways. He refused to slow down after asking him multiple times, so we involved the law.  They went and spoke with him about the law regarding the driving and parking of his truck in the community and how it was not permitted.  The next day he drove his pickup into our friend/neighbors yard, and purposely hit and killed Bob. After doing that he pulled up the street sign that clearly stated no trucks allowed.  I confronted him about Bob’s murder, and he just smirked and said,” what are you going to do about it?”  I called the sheriffs department, they came out took my statement and witness statements, and then questioned him.  He told them that he did hit our dog, but by accident, and nothing was done.  When he shot Napolean it was in broad daylight and although the bullet went through him and didn’t kill him, it traumatized him for life.  He’s been afraid to go outside ever since then.          Again, we called the sheriffs department and nothing was done.  The shooting and killing death of Rosie was the last straw for us, I have to fight for justice for my beloved pups, I have to fight for the safety and protection of my friends’ and neighbors pets’. The law has done nothing to punish this man and it is time for his tyranny to stop. Not only did he shoot and kill our dog, but he did it in front of a child, that memory will be etched in his mind forever.  What does it say about us as humans if we can allow cruelty, bullying, and evil to persist without penalty?  Please if you agree that animal cruelty, and murder should be punishable to the fullest extent of the law please sign and share this petition. Give a voice to the voiceless, justice for Rosie, Bob, and Napolean.  As of a few months ago the law was recently changed in this state in regards to cruelty and killing of domestic animals, it is now a FELONY.  The man is a repeat offender and our local law enforcement has done nothing to uphold the law and bring him to justice.  Please take the time to sign and share people like him must be held accountable.
