Hey Folks! Sorry it took a day to get you an update about the school board meeting that took place Monday night April 19th. First off please note that this was an open forum for anyone who had an issue with Troy ISD to put your name on the list and you have 5 minutes to speak. Let me tell y'all Troy is a messed up little Peyton Place! That school district needs to be cleaned out of the Superintendent,  at least the middle school principal and the ENTIRE school board!

� Hairgate Board Meeting Summary �

Okay folks here is pretty much what happened tonight at The Troy School Board Meeting... I was not there in person, but watched it on ZOOM with 152 other people.
The very first speaker was on Zoom and that was the Cozart's attorney. He very thoroughly explained why the dress code was racial and gender discrimination. There were a couple comments on ZOOM, asking somebody on there who he was and somebody saying it isn't racial...� Idiot!
Then for 45 minutes, people got up an spoke on behalf of Rachel Melancon, who was the girls volleyball coach. One of the influential families named Ledbetter have basically slandered her name so badly that the school board discontinued her contract. People stood up for her and listening to them talk, Troy is a messed up little peyton place - that's a group of people that has secrets and problems... Superintendent Jeter got called out for not investigating and letting influential people smear Melancon...
Anyways... the next 20 minutes were people griping about their taxes going up and not wanting a solar farm....

FINALLY a guy named Todd gave his redneck 2 cents of how Hope was wrong and that it was just a small group that really thought that. Well the board had turned off comments or else I would've posted that 1300 + signatures and counting isn't small!
Then it was Charles, an author, civil rights activist, and family friend's turn to speak! I think he kinda shocked the board when he started off talking about his Godfather was the Grand Dragon of the KKK and learning that things he was told about black people growing up was so wrong, discriminating,  and something he has fought against since learning about the people and their culture from a black friend. He very eloquently told the board that their policy was ignorant and they were ignorant for having it used to punish Maddox for his hair!

Then Hope spoke. She read several of the hateful messages that people in Troy and on TIKTOK posted and  about the HELL Michelle Jolliff and her ignorance has put the whole family through...

They did awesome! Hope stayed strong and made her point! There is no maybe, it's no you're going to!  She was willing to sit down with the board and get the dress code changed and the racial and gender discrimination being allowed because of it abolished. They have until Friday to respond. 

And that is pretty much it! The remaining people were talking about taxes and solar farms! The board adjourned for their executive session and everybody left!!!
No Riots, no pandemonium, not one ignorant loud mouth who talked crap on the Troy United page had the guts to show up ...  Just a  bunch of ignorant keyboard warriors running their mouths...we were not surprised!!!

I really wished I could have been there in person so I could've read the email I mailed to Jolliff and Jeter about 2 hours before the meeting. I will post a copy of it another time. As soon as there is an update either about the board, the Crown Act,, etc. I will share!

NEXT STOP AUSTIN TEXAS ON THURSDAY FOR THE CROWN ACT!!! Maddox might actually address the lawmakers and Governor Abbott!!! How cool is that?!?!?
