Office of the Health Ombudsman has acknowledged our concerns and the matter remains on record

Petition Update: 13 July 2026
Koeyma Eso and thank you to everyone who continues to support this petition. Since our last update, the Office of the Health Ombudsman has acknowledged our concerns and the matter remains on record through that process.
I can also confirm that a formal complaint has now been lodged with the Queensland Ombudsman regarding the administrative handling of the accommodation and complaint process. The complaint has been accepted for assessment and allocated reference number 77950.
The purpose of this complaint is to seek an independent review of how concerns relating to patient safety, accommodation suitability, complaint handling and decision-making were managed. The matter is now progressing through the Ombudsman's assessment process. We will continue to provide updates as appropriate while advocating for safe, equitable and culturally appropriate support for remote Queenslanders including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their carers who must travel from remote communities for healthcare.
