Accelerate the Development of the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway in Northeast Philadelphia

The Issue

The Roosevelt Boulevard Subway is a project that has been close to my heart for years. This proposed SEPTA subway line, designed to run along Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been on the drawing board since 1913. Despite its century-long history and a promising study conducted in 2003 envisioning it as a branch of the Broad Street Line with over 124,000 daily riders and diverting more than 83,000 car trips daily - no progress has been made as of 2023.

The lack of action on this vital infrastructure project is unacceptable. It's not just about convenience; it's about reducing traffic congestion and improving our city's air quality by reducing car emissions. Moreover, it would provide an efficient public transportation option for thousands of Philadelphians every day.

We cannot afford to wait another century for this crucial development. We urge local authorities and SEPTA to prioritize and expedite the development process for the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway project in Northeast Philadelphia. Let us move forward together towards a more connected city with better public transportation options.

Please sign this petition if you believe in advancing our city’s infrastructure for a better future!
