No industry recognition when Outlander put Scotland on the map? 

Starz adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's books have made Scotland so attractive to watchers that Outlander has increased tourism by an average of 67 percent. Locations for the show have seen visitor numbers rise by a staggering 200%. 

That impact speaks volumes about the quality and care attached to this project. Drama, fantasy, action, history, romance and distinguishing features such as the use of Scottish Gaelic set it apart from others.

All the complexities described in the books come alive on screen up to the tiniest detail. Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan's renditions come to mind. Sam masters accent, demeanor, facial expressions, body tics and even his character's laser stare. Caitriona projects strength, intelligence and vulnerability. Both rape scenes are a testament to  their acting skills. 

Cast, producers and everyone involved deserved recognition by their peers, list o no list; Union or Non-Union.
