Abolish WorksafeBC and Protect Workers

Abolish WorksafeBC and Protect Workers
The Issue
To our viewers,
Our petition for a safer, accountable workers' compensation system has been viewed 2,000 times but has only 60 signatures.
This week, more B.C. workers lost their lives.
A system that is failing to prevent these tragedies needs fundamental change. Our petition calls for that change: review, replace, and restore accountability.
Your signature is critical. It shows the government that British Columbians demand a system that prioritizes worker safety above all else.
Views do not save lives. Signatures do.
Every person who views this petition but doesn't sign it is sending a silent message: "This isn't important enough." Or "Someone else will do it."
Let us be brutally clear: There is no "someone else." There is only us. And our inaction is costing people their lives.

PETITION TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA
To the Honourable the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, in Legislature Assembled:
The petition of the undersigned residents of British Columbia states that:
Whereas the current workers’ compensation system administered by WorkSafeBC has created significant barriers to timely and fair treatment of injured workers;
Whereas injured workers routinely face delays, fragmented claim processes, and denial of legitimate claims, leading to prolonged suffering and financial hardship;
Whereas medical opinions from treating physicians are frequently overruled by doctors contracted by WorkSafeBC, and appeals processes consume public funds that could otherwise support recovery and reintegration;
Whereas injured workers are not permitted to pursue legal remedies against employers even in cases of gross negligence or systemic misconduct;
We, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia as follows:
To undertake a comprehensive review of the WorkSafeBC system with public consultation and input from injured workers, medical professionals, and workplace safety experts.
To legislate the establishment of a new, publicly accountable compensation system that simplifies the claims process, integrates physical and mental health injuries into a unified process, and emphasizes early care and rehabilitation.
To ensure the independence of medical assessments by prohibiting compensation bodies from overruling treating physicians without an impartial, third-party review.
To introduce legislation allowing legal recourse against employers in cases of gross negligence, unsafe work practices, or proven misconduct during compensation claims.
To mandate full public transparency regarding WorkSafeBC’s claim denial rates, appeals expenditures, and executive compensation.
Your petitioners respectfully request that the Honourable House give due consideration to these matters
