Like millions of others, I am burdened by the exorbitant car tax that we are obliged to pay each year. This tax, which is supposed to be used for road repairs, is not being utilized as promised. The government has stated that cars do not have priority over cyclists when it comes to road usage. Yet, we car owners are required to pay this hefty tax under the guise of funding these repairs.

The reality is that our car tax goes into the same pot as Council Tax and other funds and gets used for a myriad of other purposes - purposes we did not agree upon when paying this specific levy. It's time for transparency and fairness in how our taxes are being spent.

According to a reports less than 10% is of Vehicle Duty is used to actually repair roads. This clearly shows an imbalance between what we pay and what we get in return. They state this is used to pay for the NHS, Fire Service, Police force etc yet they have been cutting down these over the years and hospitals are struggling, ambulance times have increased massively, so where has the money gone? 

We demand an immediate review and abolition of this unfair car tax scam. Council Tax is also used for maintaining roads for all users equally, whether they're behind a wheel or on two wheels.
