ABOLISH  PAYE  WAGES METHOD UNJUSTLY IMPOSED  ON  UK AGENCY NURSES.

Protect our RIGHT to choose payment methods suitable for each individual agency  worker and scrap PAYE System.  Being a Nurse or Midwife  is a job that demands both physical and emotional stamina. It requires dedication, long hours, and a deep commitment to patient care. Nurses and Midwives are the backbone of our healthcare system, yet they are not compensated fairly for their invaluable contribution. I have seen firsthand the effects of the current Pay As You Earn (PAYE) system on  Agency Nurses and Midwives. Under this new system, NURSES AND MIDWIVES—who are already struggling to make ends meet—see a significant portion of their salaries deducted. This has resulted in nurses being paid peanuts for their monumental efforts. This is Mordern day slavery  and extortinate.

The situation is heartbreaking. Imagine the emotional toll of working long hours, sacrificing time with family, and constantly facing life-and-death situations, only to be underpaid. It's not just unfair; it's unsustainable. Nurses and Midwives are burning out, and the Healthcare system is at risk of losing these essential workers. In a profession where every moment can be pivotal for a patient's survival, it's vital to ensure that the people in these crucial roles are properly compensated.

This petition calls upon the Government, Agency Companies, and Umbrella companies to recognize the essential role of Nurses and Midwives and to Abolish and STOP  the enforcement of the current PAYE system introduced on 6th APRIL 2026 that unfairly impacts their earnings. By revising the system, we can provide nurses and midwives with a livable wage, fostering a more sustainable and resilient healthcare workforce.

Real change starts with recognizing the issue and taking action. Adjusting  and scraping the PAYE system is a concrete step towards ensuring fair compensation for nurses and midwives. When we invest in our nurses, we are investing in the future of healthcare.
