Abolish Medical Insurance and Substantially Decrease Pharmaceutical Costs

Abolish Medical Insurance and Substantially Decrease Pharmaceutical Costs
The Issue
A personal struggle has led me, like many other Americans, to conclude that enough is enough; the brutal monopolies squeezing the health of our nation for profit must be stopped. It is deeply distressing to see the American people being used as a means to enhance the wealth of the privileged. It's time for a shift. We want to completely remove medical insurance and significantly lower the cost of pharmaceuticals in the United States.
According to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), the United States spends significantly more on healthcare than any other country, with costs fueled by high prices for pharmaceuticals and doctors' services, not to mention the costly administration of a complex medical insurance system. An average American spends approximately $10,739 on health care per year, drastically outpacing other developed nations with universal healthcare.
Such a system doesn't only hit our wallets—it's detrimental to our well-being. American life expectancy, despite this high spending, lags behind other high-income countries. This is a direct result of this profit-focused system placing the welfare of corporations above that of its people.
The current structure of the American healthcare system cannot be sustained; it’s fundamentally incompatible with the health and financial security of its people. We need to abolish exorbitantly priced medical insurance and place caps on pharmaceutical pricing to ensure everybody has access to the healthcare they need without financial ruin.
Let our voices be heard. Stand up for fair pricing, stand up for your right to health. Sign the petition now for a healthier, fairer America.
