Election 2018

Mary Romansky retired and she was replaced for the remainder of her term, by former District employee Judi Tomczik by School Board appointment in June 2018.

The remaining three seats up for re-election (plus Ms. Tomczik) are Scott Swanson, Shawn Hallett and Tony Pass.   Only Ms. Tomczik is running this November 6, 2018.   Ms. Tomczik has done a good job for only being in the position since June of 2018.

10 individuals have stepped forward to run for the 4 seats.   Please see the Shakopee Valley News (www.shakopeenews.com to learn about the candidates.     Majority didn't step forward until the last days of the filing period.   

One candidate served on the watchdog group regarding the school district budget issues and filed the complaint with Shakopee Police Department which lead to charges of theft and embezzlement against former Superintendent Rod Thompson.      

Please educate yourself on these candidates and make sure the one you pick are not being groomed to be the same old same old and backed by this current school board or former school board members.   Understand this school board backed Rod Thompson and are still dealing with budget issues while condemning the efforts of the watchdog group.   

I have been silent but it's time to say something....we need legislation to voter recall elected local officials (school board and city council levels).
