Hello Everyone, I want to thank all the people who donated money to the union or through donations promoted this petition on Change.org. You know who you are thank you! � Last month a survey of applications per single job vacancies of 310 jobs in Melbourne was conducted on behalf of unemployed people. The results of the survey show there was an average of 60 applications per vacancy. Many positions recorded well over 140 applications per vacancy. Do you still accept the government’s unemployment rate of 5.6 percent? Only a much higher unemployment rate can account for this high rate of applications for single job vacancies. Stats like this only serve to reinforce the need for a job guarantee for every person who wants a job. A job guarantee can only happen if the majority of pensioners and the unemployed get together under one umbrella (AUWU) and push the government! Until then benefits need to be increased.
