Parking Strategy
The Council have now published a summary of their Parking Strategy for Twickenham Riverside which can be viewed with along with their other consultation material here: Design Consultation
The Council plan to relocate up to 78 spaces from the riverside site to nearby locations in the town centre to achieve the #ParkNotCarPark vision.
However, the architects plans include between 12 and 40 parking spaces on site (see the Essential Information document for details). Hence only 38 to 66 spaces will be required to replace the relocated ones. BTW, the new flats will be not have any parking, as is the city norm these days. The strategy states that 67 of the relocated spaces will be within 250m of the riverside.
Public Open Space
Please take a good look at the plan views of each design to see which provides the best use of public open space, and which has the optimum balance of green versus grey (paving etc). Which design best improves on the current space of Diamond Jubilee Gardens and complements it with sympathetic buildings?
And finally, please Have your say on each of the designs... or just your favourite if you're pushed for time.
Ps There is another exhibition in Clarendon Hall, York House, today from 6.00-8.30pm
