#ParkNotCarParkThe Council's Consultation Survey

Twickenham Riverside Park Team

12 Oct 2017
We don't like to pester you with more than one update a week, but this is such an important week we feel we have to make an exception.
The Consultation on the Council's latest design for Twickenham Riverside kicked off on Monday evening. We're not going to go into all the details here, except to say that we're even more disappointed than we expected to be (we didn't think that was possible).
Rather than pointing out all the faults we think it's best for you to judge for yourselves by viewing the designs online or visiting Clarendon Hall, York House where you'll see exactly the same stuff, but can pick up hard copies and quiz councillors and officers.

The next sessions are this evening and on Saturday:
Thursday 12 October from 6 to 8.30pm
Saturday 14 October from 11am to 4pm
Monday 16 October from 6 to 8.30pm
Thursday 26 October from 6 to 8.30pm
Whatever you choose to do please, please, please complete their very short and simple survey (see example pages above). It's available online and in hard copy at the consultation.
This is your opportunity to tell the Council directly what you think of their plans, and what you'd prefer to see on our riverside. Don't be shy.
The project manager for the riverside project told one of our team on Monday that if all our supporters object to the designs, the Council will drop them. So, there you go. What more motivation do you need.
Carpe Diem. Seize the Day.
A couple of notes on the design images and documents:
1. Virtually all the riverside parking has been cunningly excluded from the images, but it's all there in the detailed plans.
2. The pocket square proposed isn't large enough for the farmers market or ice rink
3. The 'boathouses' shown in the images are in fact fake doors, that conceal the 35 underground parking spaces (for the new flats only)
4. We'll let you be the judges of the size and style of the buildings
Many thanks again for your wonderful support and comments,
The Twickenham Riverside Park Team.
