A Public Inquiry Into Dissemination Of Racially Motivated Misinformation By BBC & CH 4

A Public Inquiry Into Dissemination Of Racially Motivated Misinformation By BBC & CH 4
The Issue
The manipulation of news to spread false propaganda by the BBC and Channel 4 is extremely damaging to society, as evidenced by the two high profile instances referenced in this petition., namely the theft of Lewis Hamilton's 8th title on Sunday 12 December 2021 in Abu Dhabi, and the forced exit of Gary Lineker from the BBC on Monday 19th May 2025, on the false notion that he is antisemitic.
In the first instance, the BBC led other media including Channel 4 to deliberately misrepresent that the race steward was entitled to change the rules mid-race for the benefit of the white driver and to the disadvantage of the black driver who was headed to certain victory.
In the second instance, the BBC again led other media including Channel 4 to falsely represent that Gary Lineker was antisemitic because he had reposted an Instagram story critical of the Israeli government actions in Gaza.
In a world suffering from a rising epidemic of disinformation, it is all the more critical to establish a haven for truth and informed debate.
This was the ultimate purpose for the establishment of the licence fee funded BBC and the part public funded Channel 4.
However, these 2 public service broadcasters are failing terribly in their duty to inform the public of the truth, free of external pressures from government and non-government sources, as clearly demonstrated by what has happened to Lineker and Hamilton.
In the case of Gary Lineker, the suggestion that his criticism of the Israeli government actions in Gaza, amounts to antisemitism is an outrageous propaganda designed to shut down free speech.
In the case of Lewis Hamilton it is an affront that the BBC and Channel 4 can lend themselves to a high level corrupt scheme to rig a race for the commercial benefit of the television rights holder.
The fact that the BBC, the very institution that should be exposing such corruption in the case of Hamilton, and educating the public and promoting informed debate in the case of Lineker, abdicated its responsibility says it all.
Therefore, we call upon the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to convene a public inquiry into these two incidents, which together show how the BBC and Channel 4 are spreading disinformation and propaganda. These two must be held accountable and subjected to the correct repercussions if found guilty of such racially motivated disinformation. This action is crucial in order to preserve the integrity of news, promote racial equity, and prevent future incidents. Sign this petition to demand transparency and accountability from the BBC and Channel 4.
Their actions fostered a racially biased narrative, that the black driver who was unlawfully deprived was stereotypically a sore loser. This misuse of influence and power is not only insulting to the millions of viewers who are aware of the truth, but also harmful to society as a whole. Such practices not only stoke the flames of racial tension but also erode trust in media, exacerbating divide and discord among citizens. In our digital age, where disinformation can spread like wildfire, the accountability of news agencies is paramount.
