We've been pretty steady on gaining signatures, but we need to push to get the Los Osos signature count up. Without guidelines in place for our unincorporated town, we are vulnerable to the vexing impacts of a growing trend of short term vacation rentals. The conversion of Residential Single Family homes and Long-Term Rental Units into transient rentals eliminates our already no-growth limited housing stock, and negates a state mandate to preserve and increase housing supply.

The Guidelines drafted through LOCAC emphasize protecting the character and integrity of residentially zoned neighborhoods by means of density control, ownership requirements, cap, etc. You can read the Guidelines on the website: https://www.neighborsforlososos.com
