Thank you all for supporting this petition and speaking up for something that you feel is worth standing up for. 

The President’s School Safety Commission recently suggested that we arm our teachers with weapons in order to make our schools safer. As an educator who works in public schools, I completely disagree with that. And I understand that maybe some of you would like that kind of security in our schools. However, I believe every last one of us would like to see increased safety in ALL of our public schools. We need a national lockdown code of regulations, infrastructure and education to make our schools safe. We did this with the fire code and now it’s time we make a national lockdown code. Please share this petition with your friends and get the ball rolling. Thank you all so much for your support in making this petition. Your signatures are what matter and if we can get a few more I can hand deliver this petition to Bernie and some of the other local politicians here in Vermont. Again, thank you and keep it moving!
