No Accountability

Aloha mai kākou, 

Mahalo nui to everyone who has signed the petition thus far. It has been a week since the UHM Theatre & Dance Department first posted AI generated images to their social media pages. Since then, the images have been removed from social media as of August 5th and the website images were removed on August 6th. Unfortunately, the images were also included on the printed mailer which was already distributed and received by patrons of Kennedy Theater. 

There has been no acknowledgement, accountability, or apology from the department. This is beyond disappointing. I will be writing and sending a letter to the department, as well as to Dean Arnade of the College of Arts, Languages & Letters. This will be done in an effort to advocate for the department to acknowledge the damage that's been done, as well as commitment to discontinue the use of GenAI in the future.
