The Issue

This year has stripped me down to bone and truth.

Every headline of another woman murdered…

Every story of abuse buried under statistics…

Every daughter growing up in fear…

It tears at something sacred inside me.

I am not speaking from theory.

I have been raped.

I have been abused — emotionally, financially, psychologically.

I have walked so close to the edge of my own life that I could hear the silence calling me.

But then a question rose in me:

Why must we keep dying quietly?

Why must our pain be absorbed into a broken system that barely trembles?

What if, instead of dying in isolation, we chose to stand in radical solidarity?

What if our lives — our voices, our influence, our presence — became the sacrifice that forces change?

Not a sacrifice of death…

but a sacrifice of comfort.

Of silence.

Of fear.

I am calling for the reinstatement of the death penalty in extreme and aggravated cases of femicide and gender-based violence.

Not out of vengeance.

But out of a desperate cry for justice.

Out of the need to draw a line so clear that society cannot step over it again.

Out of the belief that women and girls deserve to live — not survive.

And here is the thought that will not leave me:

What if influential voices — survivors, leaders, artists, mothers, fathers — publicly pledged their names, their platforms, their reputations to this cause?

What if we collectively declared:

“We put everything on the line until our government listens.”

Not one voice.

Thousands.

Not one story.

A chorus.

I refuse to be another statistic.

I refuse to raise my daughter in a country where fear is inherited.

So I am standing up.

And I am asking you to stand with me.

Let our unity become louder than violence.

Let our courage become impossible to ignore.

Let our demand become the moment history shifts.

For our daughters.

For our sisters.

For every woman who deserves to walk freely in her own country.

We demand justice.

We demand protection.

We demand life.
