Dear Lana Del Rey,

We hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. We first want to express our admiration for your artistry and the profound impact your music has had on countless individuals, including us. Your unique style and phenomenal writing have touched the hearts of many.

We are writing to you today to request that you consider removing your name from the "NoHostageLeftBehind" open letter to Biden. We understand that the letter asks for the release of the hostages located in Gaza, and we respect your right to support the causes you believe in. However, we believe some aspects of the letter are inherently Zionist and damaging to the Palestinian cause. After 14 years of standing by your side, we are positive you wouldn't situate yourself with Zionist and genocidal ideologies, and we believe you wouldn't align with those intentions behind your signature.

The letter you signed thanks Joe Biden for his "unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people." To understand why this is hurtful, you first must know that Palestinians and Hamas have no issue with Jewish people as this is not a religious topic. Judaism is not synonymous with Zionism. There are Christian, Muslim, and Jewish Palestinians. Furthermore, the U.S.A. sends Israel over 2 Billion dollars yearly to fund Israel's military. Israel's military has been murdering Palestinians and displacing them from their homes since 1948. Israel has bombed and killed over 5,800 Palestinians in the past 17 days, including 2,400 children. The genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians is FUNDED by Joe Biden and OUR tax dollars. The letter also states that Hamas beheaded children, raped women, and burned people alive, all of which is false. Hamas is an Islamic resistance group that took hostages to incentivize Israel to release the 5,200 Palestinian hostages, including 33 women and 170 children they have taken and tortured for years. Every hostage released by Hamas said they were treated humanely and not harmed. Sources will be listed at the end for you to see for yourself.

Where in the letter is the request for a ceasefire on the 2.3 million civilians in Gaza, 1.1 million of whom are children below 14. Over 1.3 million Palestinians have been displaced, with their home turned to rubble by Israel in the past 17 days. This letter paints Israel as innocent when they have been the occupier and aggressor for 75 years, and we know that you don't stand for violence or killing.

In the spirit of fostering open dialogue and collaboration, we suggest removing your signature from the letter. By doing so, you can continue to support peace without any potential for misunderstandings or misrepresentations. That letter dehumanizes Palestinians and does not mention the 5,100 and counting Palestinians killed in the past 17 days at the hands of Israel.

Your influence and voice carry considerable weight, and this adjustment will help ensure the letter's message remains clear and focused on its intended goals.
