AIB Board rules in favor of her permit allowing non-domestic captive animals with stipulations as follows: NO animals over 6 months (limited to six wolf pups and seven fox kits), NO HUMAN INTERACTION and NO PET AND PLAYS with any wild animals. Her initial permit also included bobcats and raccoons. The board denied any bobcats or raccoons, leaving her only with wolf pups and fox kits for viewing only. This is a partial victory for the animals, but our work isn't done. I give OVERWHELMING kudos to our state veterinarian Dr. Oedekoven. If not for his testimony about the spread of disease and the petting issue, she most likely would have her $20 "pet and plays". According to our current state statues, they had no choice but to allow the permit. State law needs to be tightened so the AIB can have discretion in allowing such permits in our state.
