Hello Everyone!

It has been a while since I touched base with you all. I apologize. It has not been easy fighting for change through our court system in Manitoba as a self-represented person, not by choice. I am sharing those struggles in my new podcast “Trials of the Civil Un-Represented in Manitoba” on Spotify. Check it out by clicking the link below.

NEXT UP!

We are at 670 signatures and counting! Yay!!! Thank you so much for your support!!! Let's keep the petition growing to 1,000 signatures and a lot more.

Here’s why …

In May, I attended a committee meeting at the Manitoba legislative building as a citizen to speak about the proposed amendments in (BILL 29) and the need for more amendments to the Workplace Safety and Health Act. It was a very emotional experience for me. Several MLAs were in attendance, and although they listened and seemed very empathetic when I shared my story, I left wondering what impact I truly made with my requests for specific amendments still lacking in Bill 29 under the Workplace Safety and Health Act and the Workers’ Compensation Act.

At the beginning of August, I met with an MLA in my area in a one-on-one meeting. I shared my story, the need for change, and requested help. I left that meeting feeling like I did after the committee meeting for Bill 29, no closer to positive social change.

After those two encounters, I am convinced that increasing public interest is the best way to have our voices heard and impact change through those MLAs who are the decision makers.

The more signatures, the better. As this petition grows, its impact increases. More signatures will allow me to use this petition to bolster my position in the public interest, especially in my notice of constitutional questions involving these amendments in relation to section 15(1) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Together we are a movement that can not be ignored or dismissed.

Please continue to share this petition, and if you can, please consider supporting it further by donating to help promote it and spread it further.

Thank you for the much-needed support. We are on our way.

I planned to start a podcast in August 2025, “Trials of the Civil Unrepresented in Manitoba,” to raise awareness of the lived experiences of self-represented persons, not by choice, in the Manitoba Court system. However, I had to postpone the release of the first episode in August. The trailer is currently up. LISTEN NOW and subscribe.  I will be starting the podcast in February 2026. Stay tuned.

I know that was a lot of information. Thank you for reading it all. Stay tuned for the next update at the end of September.

Much love to you all!

Ingrid
