The Issue

Everyone deserves a safe place to call home.

Since the 7th of October over 16 thousand Palestinians have been killed in the ongoing attack on Gaza. Over 2.3 million Palestinians are now homeless and trapped with decreasing access to food, water and healthcare.

This is unacceptable.

When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2021 the UK government reacted with immediacy, welcoming Ukrainian refugees into the country, offering financial assistance to British residences willing to open their homes to Ukrainian refugees. Over 174,000 Ukrainians have been welcomed to the UK.

When the Taliban took control of Afghanistan following the removal of British troops, the UK government offered sanctuary to Afghani citizens who had supported the UK troops in Afghanistan.

The UK is implicated in this conflict too. Providing early and ongoing support in the division and occupation of Palestine. The UK is also estimated to have arms trade with Israel worth £366 million.*

We call on the UK government to open its doors to the citizens of Palestine. If the government will not call for a ceasefire then its is their moral duty to welcome the victims of this ongoing war.
