We, the undersigned, call on the President of the Nigeria Election Petition Tribunal and the Chief Justice of Nigeria to allow live television coverage of the proceedings of all matters relating to the 2023 presidential elections in the interest of transparency and accountability.

As citizens of Nigeria, we believe that the outcome of presidential election petitions is of utmost importance to the future of our country. It is therefore imperative that Nigerians are given the opportunity to witness in realtime the proceedings of both the tribunal and the supreme court on these matters.

Live television coverage of the proceedings will provide citizens with the opportunity to witness firsthand the evidence and arguments presented by both parties. This will help to promote transparency and accountability in the election petition process, and give a sense of assurance to Nigerians that the proceedings are conducted in a fair and just manner.

With deep suspicions and heightened tensions in the country following the recent elections, anything short of providing live TV coverage of court proceedings  will leave Nigerians deeply sceptical of any judicial outcomes.
