Petition for Lebanon’s Sovereignty, Stability, and Prosperity

We, the Lebanese Private Sector Network and citizens of Lebanon, demand immediate action to restore Lebanon’s sovereignty, stability, and prosperity. Our nation faces an existential threat, with a collapsing economy, weakened state institutions, and an urgent need for effective governance. Lebanon’s formal private sector, alongside civil society and the patriotic diaspora, has long been a lifeline—but we cannot do it alone.

Implement UN Resolutions 1559, 1680, and 1701
We call on our leaders to ensure full implementation of these UN Security Council resolutions, empowering the Lebanese Army as the sole bearer of arms to protect our borders, ports, and airports. Additionally, we urge the reactivation of the 1949 Armistice Agreement to secure non-belligerence through diplomacy and ensure long-lasting peace.

Reinstate Functional Government Institutions
We urge the election of a president with no further delays, the formation of a functional government, and the restoration of constitutional integrity. These are essential steps for stability, leadership, and effective governance.

Champion Economic Diplomacy
Economic diplomacy ensures our voices and those of our communities are heard. The private sector, civil society, and diaspora must lead in addressing the challenges of ineffective governance and non-state actors. By securing leadership on the economic front and a seat at the table, we can rebuild trust and partnerships with Arab and global allies. With international support, we advocate for a Marshall Plan-style recovery to revitalize Lebanon’s economy and attract investment.
