My children attend Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary, and their safety is my utmost priority. The school is located on a busy road, and the current playground fence, a low-lying chain-link fence with concrete blocks at its base, poses a significant risk to the safety of our children and staff.

We are deeply concerned about what could happen if the fence remains in its current state. The concrete blocks can easily be used as a step, creating an easy entry point for unauthorized individuals. Furthermore, the direct and unobstructed view from the busy road leaves our children vulnerable to anyone who may wish to cause them harm.

Why We Need a Safer Fence

 * Security: The current fence is not sufficiently secure and fails to provide a proper barrier against potential threats.

 * Visibility: The high visibility into the playground from the busy road is a serious safety concern. A safer fence would provide a more secure visual barrier.

 * Texas Law: According to Texas Education Code § 37.108(b), schools are required to maintain facilities in a manner that "protects the health, safety, and welfare of students." We believe the current fence is not in compliance with this standard.

Our Goal

We are petitioning the Boerne ISD administration to replace the current playground fence with a more robust and secure barrier. A safer fence will not only protect our children from external dangers but also provide peace of mind for parents and school staff.
