Let’s make this happen.  Why shouldn't the New York Mets vs. The New York Yankees annually play on September 11th?

I have seen this posted on many social media posts, especially this year.  Many are calling for a three-game set - 9/10 to 9/12.  I loved it! 

Remembering what it was to see finally see baseball being played in New York after those events on that day. Baseball gave New York something to take our minds off the tragedy that just occurred.

 For a couple weeks I repeatedly brought this up in conversation to many people. Everyone that I mentioned this to agreed with no hesitation.

Let’s take this to a higher level, make it a single game!

MLB can keep their current interleague rival’s series of two games at each of the respective team’s stadium. This would be a special 1 game add on. We, really MLB, can figure out the logistics and algorithms later.  Hell, make it high stakes, an asterisk for an eventual / wishful repeat of the 2000 Subway Series. The winner of this game would have home field advantage in the instance the two teams meet the following month in the World Series. 

Join me to make this a reality and convince MLB to make the 9/11 Mets VS Yankees an annual occurrence and tribute to those who lost their lives on that day.
