Need to put value to all natural resources:

When we started this fight to save Mangroves & Wetlands, we were not aware that MD of CIDCO, a government planning authority, had in January 2017 given a letter in writing to MCZMA that these are not Wetlands. This resulted in MCZMA (without independent study or enquiry) giving approval to a private builder to make 17 residential towers and golf course project on Wetlands forming part of National Wetlands Atlas protected by High Court & Supreme Court orders.

If value would have been put to these Wetlands than it would have resulted in newspaper headlines talking of multicrore fraud/scam and all political parties would have demanded a through investigation into whole affair.

Just because no value has been put to these precious natural resources, this fraud/scam/irregularity has gone unnoticed, unreported and uninvestigated.

On our part we have been complaining to all government authorities including Chief minister & environment minister but no action has been taken till now. Hope the action will be taken against officials, responsible for issue of such letter opening the door for destruction of precious wetlands, at the earliest and these Wetlands will be saved from the clutches of builder Mafia. #keepWetlands
