The PIL 88 / 18 was heard in the Hon’ble High Court, Bombay, today i.e. on 7th June, 2018 by the division bench comprising of Their Lordships Mr. Justice A.S. Oka and Mr. Justice R. I. Chagla and after hearing Mr. Subhash Jha, Advocate, representing the Petitioner and Ms. Nisha Mehra, the Ld. AGP, representing the State of Maharashtra, the division bench was pleased to direct the Collector, Thane to forthwith depute an officer, not below the rank of Tahasildar to visit the site which is the subject matter of the petition i.e. six hectares of pond/wetland, situated at Sector 18/19, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, Dist. Raigad and to ensure that the work of reclaiming and/or filling in the pond/wetland is stopped immediately.  The Senior Inspector of Police, Kharghar police station, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai has been directed to provide adequate police protection to the officer concerned who would be visiting the site.
