We have been given the green light from government officials of the new country where the 80 elephants will be relocated! This is wonderful news! But the elephants are still in danger. This is NOT A BLUFF! THEY WILL BE CULLED IF WE DON'T MOVE THEM. We can't simply drop them off anywhere. And, once the precise location has been agreed upon, we must create an Elephant Management Plan (EMP). This involves examining the ideas of relationships to farm areas, human habitat, safety, water availability, food availability and several other considerations. Once the EMP has been established and approved by a few scientist who specialist in elephant management, we can fine tune the cost of the overall rescue. We have made the educated estimate of $150,000. Yet, this will change once we have assembled all the details. Of course, I hope it will be less but it could be more. The biggest factor is the location within the new host country and it accessibility. I will keep everyone posted as we progress. In the meantime, please spread this far and wide on social media.
