In recognition of their service, we propose that all honorably discharged veterans residing in Wayne/Westland, Michigan, receive a significant property tax relief, regardless of disability status.

We propose:

A maximum of 50% property tax payment for all honorably discharged veterans.

Veterans with a VA disability rating would remain eligible for further reductions based on a sliding scale (e.g., 70% exemption for 70% disability).

This policy ensures no veteran pays more than half of their property taxes while providing additional relief to disabled veterans who face unique challenges.
