This Wednesday book HERE to join Jess Phillips MP, Layla Moran MP, Helen Grant MP and Frances Scott from 50:50 to talk about women in politics. Anoosh Chakelian Britain Editor will be chairing this fab New Statesman event!

100 years after the first women took her seat in the Commons we will be discussing what action we can all take to make sure that women get equal seats and equal say.

It is great that there are now 220 women at Westminster but at a rate of only 12 extra women being returned to Westminster at each election it will take decades for women to have equal power. 

50:50 are proud to announce that record numbers of women have been signing up to stand via our website during this election. We now have over 1000 women registered who want to stand. Women are signing up everyday!

Our New Girls Network on 50:50 buddies will now be helping them along the path to Parliament, giving them guidance and advice about how to get selected and elected. 50:50 work across the political spectrum to support women along the way to Westminster. 

Over 50 women standing in this election had been inspired by our work and nine of them were elected!
