Many congratulations to Sarah Olney winning Richmond Park by-election for the Lib Dems, overturning Zac Goldsmith's majority of 23,015 at the 2015 general election. This is a fantastic result for someone new to politics. In her victory speech, she said: "A year and a half ago I wasn't involved in politics, I wasn't a member of a political party, I had never been involved in a political campaign, I had never thought about being a politician... When I saw what happened in the general election last year I felt I had to get involved." She is the first Lib Dem woman to take a seat in THIS Parliament, joining the other 8 Lib Dem MPs and bringing the number of women in the House of Commons up to 194.
