The Monarch, our Queen, is part of Parliament and ‪#‎5050Parliament‬ would like to wish Her Majesty a Happy Birthday. We hope she likes the little present we popped in the post yesterday, with velvet ribbons in ‪#‎EqualityColours‬. We trust that her private secretary will deliver our special birthday message which says: "Dear Sir, 50:50 Parliament would like you to wish Her Majesty The Queen a very Happy Birthday from us! We thank her for her great example of gracious leadership and dedication to public service. We hope that she will feel supportive of our cause to have more women in Parliament and better gender balance at Westminster. 50:50 Parliament is a cross party campaign asking all the Party Leaders to address this issue and ensure that Parliament is equally accessible to the 32 million of The Queen’s UK subjects who are women, allowing for fair and equal representation and ensuring that Parliament draws upon the widest possible pool of talent and experience. 50:50 Parliament is also setting up an Ambassador programme to encourage interest and engagement in politics, particularly aimed at inspiring women to participate in Parliament.
