Adani update

We'd learned that multinational corporation Siemens was considering a deal to help Adani with their climate-wrecking mine.

Only a few companies in Australia can install the signalling needed on the 200km railway Adani will use to transport coal to the coast. All companies except for Siemens have ruled this work out.

The last 48 hours has shown the incredible power of the Stop Adani campaign.

Since we learned that Siemens was considering this dirty deal, thousands of us have emailed Siemens, left comments on their social media pages and rallied outside their offices. And globally, our Stop Adani allies in New Zealand and Germany are planning how they can turn up the heat on Siemens in their countries.

Together we are focused, fast and powerful.

We’re hearing that Siemens might extend its decision to next week. But we can't be sure, so let's act now.

Can you take 10 minutes to help amplify the pressure on Siemens to rule out working with Adani?

Together let’s remind Siemens that a responsible company would rule out working on one of the biggest proposed expansions of coal mining on the planet!

Option 1: Ask two other people to email Siemens
Siemens has already received thousands of emails but we cannot let the pressure lapse. Think about the people close to you – friends, family and colleagues – who will want to raise their voice to stop Adani, and encourage them to send a short and personal email to Siemens now.

Option 2: Write a comment on Siemens Facebook page
Siemens is a global brand and is very sensitive to public criticism. Write a comment on any Siemens post on their Facebook page and ask them to rule out working with Adani (the post where Siemens shares their dream to 'make cities more livable, industry more efficient and society more sustainable' would be a good one to comment on – that vision doesn’t align with supporting coal projects, does it?!)

Option 3: Make a phone call to Siemens Head Offices
Just like a personal email, a personal phone call to Siemens is very powerful. Pick up your phone – perhaps over your afternoon cup of tea – and make a quick call to Siemens now. We’ve pulled together some contact numbers and talking pointsas a guide for your conversation.

With all of our people power, we can hold Siemens accountable for this crucial decision. Thank you again for all that you are doing to care for our beautiful country.
