Let’s take this to the next level (email me at dreamaclemson@gmail.com)
Hi all, Thank you for this support. I just wanted to reach out to you with some next steps. We will need to $10,000 to hire an attorney, to fight the movement by the State of Minnesota and our Township board to install municipal water into our rural West Lakeland Township. The Plan:
-Create a non profit entity which will be called Citizens Against Municipal Water
-Contact as many residents as possible to raise funds ASAP
-File an Injunction to delay the process of installing municipal water
What has been done so far:
-Have 3 volunteers for the board of the non profit
-We have raised 70% of the funds towards our goal
-Found a local, very notable civil and criminal law litigator. He feels we have a strong case and is ready to take on the fight
-Been in contact with a number of politicians, making them aware of this movement
-Published news coverage with a possibility of more in the days ahead
The reason for the injunction
-Most residents in WLT are happy with their POETS and wells
-We see no reason to spend millions of dollars to fix a problem that already has a working solution
-Fear of how municipal water will change our township with more government overreach and over development
-An Injunction will stop the process and force the State of Minnesota to address our concerns
-Focus Engineering involvement in a flawed survey
-Focus Engineering will profit financially with designing the municipal water system
-Stop forced capping of our wells
-Get answers to why our filters will no longer be paid for by the 3M settlement
-Address the continued call for a 5 person township board
-Our townships leaders are biased towards municipal water and have not fought on behalf of the majority of the residents of WLT. Thus for how you can participate in next steps, submit funds etc please email me at dreamaclemson@gmail.com Thanks, Pam Carlson (1266 Paris Tr North, 55082-2803) and the committee of Citizens Against Municipal Water
