Points in our petition weren’t adhered to and now the price is being paid… The reopening was structured to hastily and loosely…. it should’ve been linked to vaccination more tightly and it shouldn’t have been set on a timeline with it another man’s political agenda in this case President Biden‘s… President Biden was too eager to declare victory by July 4 just as President Trump was too eager to ignore the whole thing… Bidens infraction was less damaging… But it comes from the same place as Trumps’: … An American desire to ignore real problems and make our pain go away with money… It doesn’t work like that. The three month buffer that we spoke about an hour petition needed to have happened… We needed to get down to near zero transmission before we reopened anything… And the vaccine availability starting in January gave us that opportunity… But we mismanaged it. And for all of those who said… Or for all of those who might say, “Well who would’ve known?“ I am writing this just to let you know that the 4128 people who signed this petition knew. So the question for all of us going forward to those we come in contact with should be something like this in my opinion, “Why? Do we let ourselves have leaders, or family members, or colleagues… Who let us brush aside safety and reason in the face of obvious danger?” We see this with everything with the environment, with traffic laws not being here to, with pollution, with industrial waste, with workplace harassment, with lack of enforcement of laws, we see it everywhere… What we are looking at is a society that is corrupted by the desire to do things quickly because somehow “quick” became our trademark… Our trademark used to be “good..” That’s what we have to go back to… To being good. Being Good.
