Schools won’t be reopening in person across California and the country.  We won’t declare it a victory because it’s a defeat for our whole country- our inability to act adequately in the face of this pandemic.

Muchos colegios van a quedarse cerrados a la instrucción en persona esto no es momento de declarar victoria porque en fin es una derrota total para la sociedad norteamericana.  No haber estado preparado para esto.

I am happy that Newsom made this announcement,I understand the political decisions take time… But they also take citizen participation… And they also take decisiveness… Which sometimes our leaders don’t have or sometimes our leaders need help in finding the courage to enact.

Me alegro  que el Gobernador Newsom hoy se ha alineado con  nosotros, de momento, y yo comprendo perfectamente que las decisiones políticas precisen  tiempo, asimismo entiendo que a veces a los políticos les faltan valor para enfrentarse a la decisiones difíciles. Y por eso los ciudadanos tienen que moverse, tienen que exigir lo que necesitan y tiene que expresarlo con todos los medios pacíficos posibles para que los líderes entienden cuando vayan por mal camino.

Como maestro, como marido , como padre entiendo que no es de buenos modales decir, “ya te lo he dicho..”.  “ya te lo dije”...  Pero en este caso, como activista, como hombre que está luchando para poder trabajar en un ambiente saludable y vivir en paz tengo que decirlo,” ¡Ya se lo dijimos!  Esto..nosotros lo vimos antes de ustedes (los líderes) y ustedes que tenían  que haberlo visto antes...”. 
Y por eso seguimos, porque el ciudadano tiene que estar atento, y tiene que estar activo, como un cantante que siga pensando en la música incluso después de terminar la canción... nosotros tenemos que llevar esto al final para asegurar que nosotros estamos seguros.

As a teacher, as a husband, as a father… I know it’s not the right thing to say, “I told you so“ but as an activist and the person who is fighting for what he feels to be his right to work safely… I feel I have to say this, “we told you so... we saw this first… When leaders should’ve seen it… And we had to get a petition, and we had to shout, and we had to let our leaders know that  we were not happy with what we saw happening.. So the fact that Mr. Newsom has joined us today is good but it does not resolve our problem completely… There’s still a lot of work to do… We are safer, but we still need funding solutions, testing, tracing and medical solutions to this crisis.  All of these things are called for in our petition.   All of these things are necessary not just for this crisis… But as a groundwork for any biological crisis or threat that may come in the future.. we need a fully funded public service system…  And so we continue..
