The Times writes that Ecuador and the UK are in high-level talks to evict Assange. In times of dissent and with the most conservative Supreme Court of Justice ever, the expulsion of Julian Assange from the Ecuadorian Embassy and subsequent prosecution will reverse the rights of those who dare to challenge power and tell the truth, in the US and all over the World. His crime is to expose war crimes and government conspiracies against the rights of the many. Prosecuting Julian Assange will officially open an era of rapid regression of civil liberties and the rise of automated totalitarianism. There will be no place for western dissidents, no courage to resist. The defence of Assange is a critical issue for all supporters of democratic rights. Today we demand that the US ends the prosecution of a journalist. We also demand that Ecuador respects its obligations with dignity, rather than illegally ignoring them and with that ignoring the word of a Head of State.
