Dear friends and supporters,
We are not alone in our struggle to ensure freedom for Julian Assange.
Human Rights Watch issued a statement earlier this week calling upon the UK to issue assurances that Julian Assange will not be extradited to the United States for his publishing work with WikiLeaks: "The UK has the power to resolve concerns over his isolation, health, and confinement by
removing the threat of extradition for publishing newsworthy leaks. It should do so before another year passes." Human Rights Watch therefore joins Amnesty International's earlier call urging authorities to "confirm publicly that Assange will not eventually find himself on a plane to the USA".
In its public statement, Human Rights Watch also revealed that Ecuador has
denied its Senior Counsel Dinah PoKempner the ability to meet with Julian Assange: "Ecuador denied Human Rights Watch permission to visit him this May. Concern is growing over his access to medical care. His asylum is growing more difficult to distinguish from detention."

John Pilger, who is an institution in himself, delivered an excellent speech about Julian Assange and WikiLeaks to mark Julian Assange's six year anniversary at the Embassy of Ecuador in London:
