Dear Bensalem Residents,

     This is a petition to stop the building of 16 twin homes on the property of 1186 Byberry Rd. in Bensalem, PA by Mar-Mar Builders, LLC. This piece of land, and all adjacent properties, are currently zoned for single family homes with 1+ acres of land. The ideal use of this property, that neighbors are in agreement with, would be single family homes that fit in with the surrounding area and adjacent homes.

     Mar-Mar Builders is strong arming the Township to approve 8 twins (16 homes), or a 240 bed sober living facility. This would entail removing 100 percent of the natural woodlands, which is currently home to much of the wildlife in the area, including deer, foxes, birds, and various other animals.

     In addition, they want to make various other zoning changes, such as making frontage less than half of what is normally permitted, as well as decreasing space on the sides and back of these future homes. They also want to increase the impervious surface ratio (increase the amount of surface that water cannot soak into). These changes allow Mar-Mar Builders to cram as many homes as possible onto this small piece of land.

     Is this how we want our Township to be run? Allowing builders to intimidate us into doing whatever changes they want? What is the point of having zoning rules if they can blackmail us into allowing them to do whatever they want? If we allow this to happen they will continue to do so in the future. This is so important for all future development in Bensalem and for all those who reside in this beautiful Township. Don't let them win.

     Please sign this petition if you are against having Mar-Mar Builders, LLC build their twins, or sober living facility, and allowing them to strong arm us. All the surrounding neighbors thank you in advance for your support!
