So important to spread awareness!

This is nothing new but I wanted to share an experience that happens regularly and I'm not pointing fingers or calling anyone to shame. This petition is about our stories.

Thomas had a school trip on Monday, I wasn't made aware of this by school trip, I don't think any parents were, Thomas was made a social story to enable him to regulate the change; he did amazing! When he got home he told me the photo on his social story was old it wasn't the same as the entrance, that in itself could have triggered Thomas but he does mask a lot, now it's Thursday and on Monday's usually he has PE, but due to the trip, he missed PE, last night parents were informed that it would be PE today, so last night, Thomas asked "Is it school uniform?" “It's PE kit tomorrow, because on Monday you went on a trip." He got his PE kit out but he wasn't his usual self. By bed time, he was unsettled, tossing and turning, making lots of sensory noises and he had a wet night, but the two days before they were both dry nights! This morning he was angry, shouting snd being rude towards me, when we eventually got to school, he was the complete opposite, hyper and chasing his friends. As far as I'm aware, everything is ok, but I have informed the Senco as I understand sometimes things can't be helped but this trip was planned weeks ago, no excuse. Now it's a waiting game to see what he's like when he comes home. It's not fair on SEN children to have to adapt to changes when they struggle with day to day challenges.

Thank-you for listening. ❤️
