Since PM Boris Johnson took office, The Conservative Party have received donations amounting to somewhere in the region of 1.89 million pounds from wealthy Russian Oligarchs, with business and property interests in London and the UK.

Some of these have links to, or have been supporters of President Putin. The Tories say that because some of these are now British citizens, that these donations should not be questioned, amid the aggressive stance Putin and Russia has taken against The Ukraine people, and the worsening war, and subsequent widening political crisis in the region, and beyond.

Aside from the practise of wealthy business people, from, or with strong links to, a hostile state abroad, buying political influence in UK politics, by way of political Party donations, being in need of urgent investigation and review itself. 

Given the history of Putin, and Russia's behaviour under him, including poisoning civilians on our own soil, and now the bombing of civilians in the Ukraine. It cannot be morally right that the Conservative Party continues to benefit from these funds, and are therefore seemingly being influenced in their decision making, by what are potentially our enemies, at this time.

We ask The Tory Party, as a matter or clarity and urgency, to show unity with the Ukraine people by donating all the party funds obtained from Russian oligarchs, whether they reside in the UK or not, to legitimate, recognised, and non political aid charities, doing humanitarian work, to alleviate the suffering of civilians caught up in the current war crisis in the Ukraine.

We also ask that the Tory led Government speed up the sanctions for those connected to this hostile nation and its regime, and sanctuary to those fleeing the bombing and violence meted out by it.
