最近、資格を持たない自称手話通訳者(士)や、手話を始めたばかりの聴者の方が手話講師をするケースが増えており、その結果、手話講師の質が低下していると感じています。

聴者の手話講師は、手話通訳者以上の資格を持つ方でなければならないという法整備を進めて欲しいです。

また、手話通訳者(士)の高齢化により、手話通訳者(士)が不足しています。

そのため、手話通訳者(士)の待遇改善を求めます。

 

どれくらいの賛同を集められるか分かりませんが、この署名を通じて国や政府にこの問題を理解してもらいたいと考えています。

Recently, there has been an increase in cases where self-proclaimed sign language interpreters—who lack official certification—or hearing individuals who have only just begun learning sign language are working as sign language instructors; consequently, I feel the quality of instruction is declining.

I urge the government to establish regulations requiring hearing sign language instructors to hold qualifications that meet or exceed those of professional sign language interpreters.

Furthermore, there is a shortage of sign language interpreters due to the aging of the current workforce.

For this reason, I call for improvements to the working conditions and compensation for sign language interpreters.

 

I do not know how much support this will garner, but I hope that through this petition, the government will come to understand the gravity of this issue.
