桜丘事件 第６回期日が行われました
「同じ授業をしているのに、なぜこんなに給料が違うのか。」
非正規教員の待遇改善を求める「桜丘事件」（損害賠償請求事件・東京地方裁判所）の第６回期日が７月８日に行われました。
桜丘では、非常勤講師が担当する授業のコマ数は、専任教員と大きな差はありません。
それにもかかわらず、賃金には約4倍、率にして75％もの開きがあります。
学校の中核事業である「授業」を担当していながら、これほどの格差が生じることは、パートタイム・有期雇用労働法第8条が禁じる「不合理な待遇差」にほかなりません。
非正規教員の待遇改善に一石を投じる本事案は、日本の教員全体の待遇改善へとつながる、権利獲得の第一歩です‼️
「教員の教育の自由」と「教育活動の民主化」を達成するためには、教育専門職者としての教員が職務上の自律性を発揮できる労働環境を整備することが必要です。専門職者としての教員の労働条件を改善し、その経済的・社会的地位を向上させることは、教育の質の向上に不可欠です。
雇用形態を理由にした格差は、重要な人権問題です。この現状を変えていくことは、公教育の場としての子どもたちの学び舎を守ることにもつながります。

The 6th Hearing in the Sakuragaoka Case Was Held
"We teach the same classes. So why is our pay so different?"
The 6th hearing in the "Sakuragaoka Case" — a damages lawsuit seeking fair treatment for non-regular teachers, now before the Tokyo District Court — was held on July 8.
At Sakuragaoka, the number of class periods taught by part-time instructors does not differ significantly from that of full-time teachers.
Despite this, there is a wage gap of roughly four-fold — a disparity of 75% in percentage terms.
That such a disparity should arise for those responsible for "classroom instruction," the school's core function, is nothing other than the "unreasonable disparity in treatment" prohibited under Article 8 of the Act on Improvement, etc. of Employment Management for Part-Time Workers and Fixed-Term Workers (the Part-Time/Fixed-Term Employment Act).
This case is more than a dispute at one school. It is a first step toward winning fairer treatment for non-regular teachers across Japan.
To achieve genuine "academic freedom for teachers" and the "democratization of education," teachers — as professionals — need a working environment where they can exercise real autonomy in their work. Improving the working conditions and economic and social standing of teachers as professionals is essential to improving the quality of education itself.
A pay gap based solely on employment status is a serious human rights issue. Changing this reality also means protecting our children's schools as places of genuine public education.
