署名活動の主旨
KATSEYE, a girl group which is scheduled to debut under Hybe Corporation and Geffen Records, has officially announced their fandom name EYEKONS which sounds exactly the same as the existing group iKON.
iKON debuted in 2015 under YG Entertainment and still holding a large number of fandom.
To avoid unnecessary confusion or misunderstanding, we demand HYBE to withdraw and change the fandom name they gave to KATEYE, EYEKONS.

They announced their fandom name EYEKONS which is 아이콘즈 if you write it in korean (iKON is 아이콘). The announcement was from KATSEYE’s youtube channel, and the title of the clip is “KATSEYE announces the long-awaited fandom name…”. It was posted on April 12, 2024.
After their announcement, iKON’s fandom started their protest against HYBE and Geffen Records on X (formerly Twitter) with the hashtag "#RESPECTiKON" and "#iKONnotEYEKONS", claiming that KATSEYE's fandom name EYEKONS and the group name iKON has quite similar spelling, exactly the same Korean spelling, sound and pronunciation. They are still taking action such as to post demanding message through X (formerly Twitter) and sending Email to the company.
● HYBE's response
Unfortunately, they haven’t received any response from HYBE and the name of their fandom hasn’t been withdrawn or changed.
However, there were one more fandom name issue related to their new girl group ILLIT. When HYBE was pointed out about the fandom name they gave for ILLIT, they immediately changed it and showed sincere response. In one day.

ILLIT and HYBE has officially announced their fandom name to be "LILLY".
However, they immediately changed this name on the next day, after they were called out that its literally the same with a personal name LILLY, who is from a girl group NMIXX (JYP).
Later on, ILLIT's fandom name was changed to "LILLYs”.
→HYBE, again, announced the changing of the fandom name, after the fandom of BLACKPINK LISA has pointed out that the pronunciation is exactly the same as LISA's fandom name, "Lilies".
ILLIT’s fandom name remains undecided until now.
● Main purpose of the petition
iKONICS have been sending their demand through twitter and email, since this April, to HYBE Official (@HYBEOFFICIALtwt) and Geffen Records (@GeffenRecords
) and asking them to change the fandom name for KATSEYE. Although they have continued to send e-mails asking for the change, no action such as response or statement has been taken so far.
In the mid of protest, some KATSEYE's fans slander iKON's fans, and it is clearly seen that unnecessary trouble between two fandoms are created because of the company’s late response.
Therefore, iKONICs demand HYBE and Geffen Records, where KATSEYE belongs, withdraw or change the name of their fandom.
● About KATSEYE
Their members were selected through “The Debut: Dream Academy”, an audition program held by HYBE, one of the biggest korean entertainment agency, and Geffen Records, an American record label. They are scheduled to debut in the summer of 2024.

End of 2023, their contract was renewed and all the members moved to 143 Entertainment. Currently their member JAY, BOBBY, and CHAN are enlisting, and SONG is scheduled to enlist in the military soon, JU-NE is planning to hold fan meetings and make his solo debut, and DK is also working on his solo activities.

この件に関しては全く反応無し。
ファンクラブ名の撤回、変更等されていない。
しかし、4月21日に発生したILLITのファンダム名問題では即座にファンダム名を変更し誠実な対応を見せた。
