ಮನವಿ :
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನರು, ತಾಯಿ ಚಾಮುಂಡೇಶ್ವರಿಯ ಭಕ್ತರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ನಾವು, ದಸರಾವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ತಾಯಿಯ ಹಬ್ಬವೆಂದು, ನಮ್ಮ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಪ್ರತೀಕವೆಂದು ಕಾಣುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಈ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಉತ್ಸವದ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಶತಮಾನಗಳಿಂದ ತಾಯಿ ಚಾಮುಂಡೇಶ್ವರಿಯ ಭಕ್ತರು ನಡೆಸಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವನ್ನು ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿಡುವುದು ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಭಾವನೆ.

ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಬಾನು ಮುಶ್ತಾಕ್, ಈ ಭಾವನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ನೀಡಿ ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ದಸರಾ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಆಲೋಚಿಸುವಂತೆ ವಿನಯಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ. ನೀವು ಸ್ವತಃ ತಾಯಿ ಚಾಮುಂಡೇಶ್ವರಿಯ ಭಕ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಸಹಭಕ್ತೆಯಾಗಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಹೃದಯಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅದೇ ಭಕ್ತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಕೋಟ್ಯಾಂತರ ಜನರ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಭಾವನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೋವುಂಟಾಗದಂತೆ ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಹಿಂದೆ ಸರಿಯುವಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸೌಮ್ಯ ಮನವಿ.

ನಮ್ಮ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಶಾಂತಿಯುತವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರವದಿಂದ ತಲುಪಿಸಲು ನಾವು ಈ ಮನವಿಯನ್ನು ಸಹಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

Petition:
We, the people of Karnataka and devotees of Goddess Chamundeshwari, see Dasara as the festival of our Mother – a living symbol of our faith and culture. For centuries, this sacred celebration has been inaugurated by those devoted to Goddess Chamundeshwari. Keeping that tradition alive is the heartfelt wish of millions of us.

Smt. Banu Mushtaq, we respectfully ask you to reconsider inaugurating this year’s Dasara in deference to these sentiments and this devotion. If you yourself hold faith in Goddess Chamundeshwari, we will gladly welcome you to inaugurate the festival as a fellow devotee. If not, we gently request you to step aside so as not to hurt the religious feelings of millions.
