Subject: Request to rename a Metro Station after Legendary Kannada Actor Shankar Nag on his upcoming birthday

Respected Sir/Madam,I am writing this letter as a proud Kannadiga and current resident of Bengaluru to humbly request you to consider naming one of the Namma Metro stations in honour of the legendary Kannada actor, director, and cultural icon Late Shri Shankar Nag

Shankar Nag is not just an actor

 He is an emotion for every Kannadiga. His immense
contribution to Kannada cinema and theatre is unforgettable:
1.Father of Karavali Culture in Cinema: Through masterpieces like Malgudi Days and his vision for coastal Karnataka.
2.Pioneer of Metro Vision: He was the first person who envisioned a Ropeway and Metro-like
transport for Bengaluru in the 1980s through his famous serial.
3. Brand Ambassador of Karnataka: His work Auto Raja, Minchina Ota, and Accident showcased Bengaluru to the world.
4.Lasting Legacy: Even after 35 years of his passing, his name lives in every household.
Sir, we have metro stations named after historical personalities like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, Sir M. Visvesvaraya. Adding Shankar Nag's name would be a true tribute to
Karnataka's art and culture.
Kannadiga's humble request
To name the 'Ragigudda' Metro Station’ (or any upcoming JP nagar station on the Pink, Line because Rangashankara located in JP NAGAR) as "Shankar Nag Metro Station"

My humble request:
This small step by BMRCL will make crores of Kannadigas very happy and will inspire the
younger generation to remember our cultural heroes.
I have attached signatures from local citizens of Karnataka and Bengaluru who support this
request.I hope you will consider this request favourably and place it before the State
Government for approval.
