إن الدعوى التي رفعتها جنوب أفريقيا إلى محكمة العدل الدولية يجب ألا تبقى قضية جنوب أفريقيا فقط، ويجب أن تتبناها مصر وتنضم إليها وتدافع عنها بكل قوة، سياسيا ودبلوماسيا وقضائيا.

إذا كانت دولة جنوب أفريقيا قد رفعت هذه القضية انتصارا لكفاح شعبها المرير ضد نظام الفصل العنصري الذي خلقه الاستعمار، وكذلك تطبيقا عمليا لما قاله زعيمها التاريخي نيلسون مانديلا بأن تحرير جنوب أفريقيا لن يكتمل إلا بتحرير فلسطين، فأولى بمصر التي اكتوى شعبها مباشرة من جرائم هذا العدو الإسرائيلي، أن تنضم لهذه القضية، انتصارا لشهداء مصر من العمال في مصنع أبو زعبل، وانتقاما لدماء أطفال بحر البقر، وتمهيدا للمحاسبة على أرواح ودماء أسرانا في حرب ٦٧.

لا يمكن لجريمة الإبادة الجماعية التي يرتكبها العدو الإسرائيلي يوميا في غزة أن تمر، أولا لأنها جريمة ضد الإنسانية لا يمكن السكوت عنها، وثانيا لأن هدفها المعلن من قبل الاحتلال هو تهجير من يتبقى من أهالي قطاع غزة إلى سيناء. فإذا كان موقف مصر المعلن هو رفض تهجير أهالي غزة، يجب عليها منعه بخطوات عملية، وإلا أصبحت شريكة في حصار غزة كي تموت في صمت على الجانب الآخر من الحدود. إن رفض التهجير يجب أن يتضمن توفير الحماية لشعب غزة، وقضية جنوب أفريقيا خطوة على هذا الطريق، إذا التفت حولها دول العالم وعلى رأسها مصر.

نقولها بوضوح، المقاومة الفلسطينية في غزة أضحت تدافع عن سيناء وغزة معا، ولذلك على مصر أن تقدم كافة أشكال الدعم السياسي والدبلوماسي لغزة، وبناء على ما تقدم نطالب نحن الموقعون أدناه:

١- أن تعلن مصر انضمامها إلى دعوى جنوب أفريقيا أمام محكمة العدل الدولية ودعم طلبها في اتخاذ إجراءات مؤقتة عاجلة بموجب اتفاقية الإبادة الجماعية، وأهمها إجراءات وقف إطلاق النار وإنهاء العمليات العسكرية الإسرائيلية في غزة.

٢- أن تتشكل لجنة تشمل النائب العام المصري ودبلوماسيين وممثلين عن مؤسسات المجتمع المدني المصري، خاصة نقابات المحامين، والصحفيين، والأطباء، وجمعية الهلال الأحمر وذلك لجمع جرائم الاحتلال وتوثيقها وتوصيفها وإعداد مذكرة رسمية بالأدلة تنضم بها مصر لدعوي جنوب أفريقيا ضد إسرائيل في محكمة العدل الدولية.

٣ـ أن تستخدم مصر ثقلها السياسي لدعوة وتشجيع دول العالم الثالث في منظمة دول عدم الانحياز والمؤتمر الإسلامي والاتحاد الأفريقي إلى الانضمام إلى دعوى جنوب أفريقيا.

Egypt, support South Africa’s case to halt the aggression against Gaza

South Africa must not stand alone in filing the case against Israel to the International Court of Justice; Egypt must adopt the case and support South Africa by all political, diplomatic and judiciary means.

South Africa’s filing of this case honors the South African people’s bitter struggle against Apartheid, it is also a practical enactment of the words of Nelson Mandela: “We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians”. Egypt, whose people suffered the crimes of the Israeli enemy first hand, has good reason to join this case — to honor the Abu Za’bal factory workers and the children of Bahr el-Baqar school, and to pave the way to accountability for our prisoners of war, murdered in 1967.

The genocide that the Israeli enemy is carrying out in Gaza must not pass — first because it is an extreme crime against humanity, and second because Israel’s publicly stated goal is to expel Palestinians remaining in Gaza to Sinai. Egypt’s official position against the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza must be supported by action; otherwise, its cooperation in the siege is a cooperation in a silent genocide on the other side of the border. Rejecting displacement must be backed by protecting the people of Gaza. The case filed by South Africa can be a step in this direction, if enough states – most of all, Egypt – support this effort.

We say it clearly: the Palestinian resistance in Gaza is defending both Gaza and Sinai. Egypt must provide Gaza with all forms of political and diplomatic support. Therefore, we the undersigned demand:

1. Egypt should join the South African case before the International Court of Justice. It should support South Africa’s demand for urgent emergency measures under the Genocide Convention — most importantly, a ceasefire and a halt of the Israeli military operation in Gaza.

2. A committee that includes Egypt’s Prosecutor-General, diplomats and representatives of Egyptian civil society (especially from the lawyers’, doctors’ and journalists’ syndicates) and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society should be formed and tasked with documenting the Occupation’s crimes and filing an evidence brief as part of South Africa’s case against Israel before the International Court of Justice.

3. Egypt should use its political and diplomatic relationships to invite and encourage Global South member states of the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the African Union to support South Africa’s case.
