The novelist Sir Salman Rushdie was stabbed as he was about to give a public lecture at the Chautauqua Institution in the State of New York on the 12th of August 2022. Fortunately, he has survived this horrific attack and the suspect is in custody.
After the publication of the author's book, The Satanic Verses, an Islamic ‘Fatwa’ was issued in 1989 by the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini.
He called upon Muslims to kill the author for insults against Islam, as well as the publishers of the book, decreeing that any Muslim killed in this act would be regarded as a ‘martyr’ with guaranteed access to paradise. A substantial bounty was also offered for the killing of Salman Rushdie.
Mr. A Mohajerani is a former Vice President and Minister of Culture of the Islamic Republic.  He now resides in London.
In 1989, Mr. Mohajerani published ‘A Critique of the Satanic Verses Conspiracy’. This book praised the Fatwa against Salman Rushdie. He described the author as an apostate. The book stated ‘’Almost all Muslim schools of jurisprudence share the view that whoever insults the prophet deserves to be killed. His repentance cannot be accepted’’.
Mr. Mohajerani has defended his book and has been unrepentant and has shown no remorse or sympathy for the heinous attack that took place in New York State.
Mr. Mohajerani, through his publications and unapologetic stance, is justifying a terror attack. He has remained defiant and defends the Fatwa. 
We ask for The U.K government and Metropolitan Police to investigate Mr. Mohajerani for inciting violence and hatred as well as encouraging, justifying, and defending an act of terror.
